  • Master’s in Applied Psychology (Counselling Psychology) from the National Institute
    of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NIE-NTU).

Prior to working at WINGS Counselling Centre, Azri was as a Correctional Rehabilitation Specialist in
Singapore Prison Service. The role introduced him to drug-addiction rehabilitation work in the
aftercare setting for adult ex-offenders released on community-based programmes. Azri had also
worked as a counsellor at NTU’s University Counselling Centre where he rendered mental health
support to undergraduate and graduate students. During his practicum as part of his master’s
programme, he counselled students aged 18 and above in settings such as NIE Wellness Centre and
APSN Delta Senior School.

Azri believes in fostering a strong therapeutic relationship with his clients where they can talk about
their struggles in a non-judgmental and safe space. He adopts an integrated approach, drawing on
modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance
Commitment Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy.

Outside the office, Azri is a passionate PC gamer and a Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast. He believes
games are a beautiful medium that helps spark intrinsic joy, creates epic shared experiences, and
forms the bridge to bring people together.

Kit Seen has 27 years of working experience in the social service.  She worked mostly in the Family Service Centres and a counselling centre and 3 years in the educational institutes as a school Counsellor.  Kit Seen’s first formal job at a Family Service Centre (FSC) introduced her to grief work where she was given the opportunity to work with single parents who grieved over the loss of their marriage (divorce) and spouses through death. In the course of her work, she was also introduced to support group working with teenagers and single parents.  Trained in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (Family and Marital Therapy), she honed her skills in family and marital therapy, and this eventually became her main focus of work.  Her tenure with the education institutes allowed her the opportunity to work with students with relationship, anxiety, depression, sexual orientation, academic, interpersonal, family and crisis management issues.   She had also counselled foster children that had experienced trauma.  She holds qualifications of BA (Social Work), a Diploma in Counselling (with the Counselling and Care Centre) and MSc in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy.

Madhura Agashe is a Registered Counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counsellors and a Full member of the Singapore Psychological Society. She holds Master’s in Clinical Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in School Counselling and a Bachelors in Psychology. She has an overall experience of more than 10 years in varied settings. She has been a Counsellor with WINGS Counselling Centre for 8 years.

Being trained in various therapeutic modalities equips her to use an integrated and an eclectic approach with clients.  She is passionate about her work in supporting all kinds of clients. However, her keen areas of interest are working with pre-school children, parents and young adults. 

She truly believes in providing the clients with respect, positive regard and a safe space to ventilate their feelings in order to help them identify their struggles. She also believes that each individual has unique intrinsic capabilities to cope better, grow and develop personally.

Michael joined WINGS Counselling Centre (WCC) as Director in May 2020. Prior to joining WCC, Michael headed a 200-bed government psychiatric facility under the full purview of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and was the Head of Operations and Governance for Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore) where he led the strategic planning process and implementation of programmatic strategic initiatives for two residential homes, two senior care centres and community programmes.

A trained Counsellor since 2005, Michael is experienced in individual and group counselling, and crisis management. As a clinical supervisor, he works with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Social Service Agencies (SSAs) such as Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), Monash University, 365 Cancer Prevention Society and Thye Hua Kwan to provide individual and group clinical supervision to trainee counsellors, professional counsellors, and case workers.

 
His work experience spans commercial sectors, public and social services where he honed his skills in career planning and development, operations, and governance in addition to budgetary controls, policies development and leadership. During the stint with the labour movement, as a Head Career Coach, Michael developed employability programmes such as the Employability Camp, to help the long-term unemployed to be job-ready through training and practice. His team was also called in to provide support in retrenchment exercises where their key focus was to help the workers and those retrenched in building mental fortitude.
 
Passionate about mental health, Michael as a National Serviceman (NSman), completed additional training in military counselling in 2015 as part of the leadership programme conducted by Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College. As an NS Senior Military Expert (ME4), he is qualified to train SAF Commanders counselling skills.
 
Amongst the many mental health related trainings that include suicide intervention skills (ASIST), psychiatric rehabilitation and gerontological counselling, Michael attended an eight-week training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) technique conducted by the Singapore Management University (SMU) and is PEAKS TM certified to conduct one-to-one career development. He also received a 26-week focused training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) specialising in Depression, Anxiety and Personality Disorder by Beck Institute for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. More recently, after receiving an intensive career advisor training with Workforce Singapore (WSG), Michael was appointed the Volunteer Career Advisor (Vca) in February 2022 by WSG. He holds qualifications of BA(Hons) and MSocSc (Coun).
 
Michael sees himself as a servant leader who synthesises with internal and external stakeholders to execute core strategies in concert with senior leadership.

Nadiah graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and a Master's degree in Counselling. Prior to working with WINGS Counselling Centre, she worked with a diverse range of clients. Specifically, Nadiah is passionate to help the youth. Along with her passion, she worked with Health Promotion Board, providing guidance and educating students aged 16 to 22 about substance abuse, nutrition, physical health and mental health. During her school days, Nadiah volunteered in an after-school programme where she worked with at-risk youth aged 13 to 17. 

Nadiah has a friendly personality and is open to new experiences. When she’s not at her desk, she can be found on an adventure in her books or shopping for cute socks. She also enjoys inline skating and indulging in ice cream on a hot day.

With nearly 20 years of practice and with a Master’s Degree in counselling, Rita has been working with individuals, families and children.

She is passionate about her work with people, who are hurting, or are grappling with grief and loss/ marital and family issues, or are simply stressed with the life transitions.

Her approach is relational and integrative and she deploys a variety of therapeutic modalities including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-centred approaches as a way of conceptualizing problems and customising interventions for her clients.

She believes in respect, sensitivity and appreciation for the unique person that she sees in her clients. She offers a warm, safe space to her clients to identify issues of conflict and remove the stumbling blocks or barriers that are interfering with their growth while instilling hopes for a better or brighter future and towards better management of their lives.

Veronica joined WINGS Counselling Centre (WCC) as a Counsellor in January 2020.  Prior to joining WCC, she completed her internship of 160 practicum hours over a period of seven months in Anglican Care Centre and All Saints Home, where she counselled clients aged 18 and above who were diagnosed with severe and chronic mental illnesses that include Schizophrenia as well as co-morbidity such as Autism at the former.

Her working experience includes two years as a Research Assistant with the Ministry of Education (MOE), where she assisted the Mathematics Department in the Curriculum Planning and Development Division to facilitate the learning of primary school students.

In addition to working, Veronica also spends her time volunteering at various organisations that include being a befriender at the Singapore Cheshire Home, Kids for Kids Foundation and Institute of Mental Health (IMH) to name a few.  She also participated as a volunteer with Pathlight School during a POKEMON event in 2016.  At present, she volunteers mainly in Sri Sivan Temple to assist in major events.

In practice, Veronica is experienced in both individual and group counselling.  She practices several modalities, specifically Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Motivational Interview.

Veronica is a Clinical Member & Registered Counsellor (RC) in the Singapore Association for Counselling. She holds qualifications of B. Psych, Grad Cert in Education Studies and MCounselling.
